UPSC – Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) – AC – BSF – CRPF – CISF – ITBP – SSB – No.11/3/2011-E1(B)
The Union Public Service Commission will hold a Written Examination on 11th November, 2012 for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The Examination will be held in accordance with the Rules for the Examination published by Ministry of Home Affairs in the Gazette of India dated 28th July, 2012. The details are as follows :
Name of the Post : Assistant Commandants
No. of Posts : 401 (BSF – 94 ; CRPF – 223 ; CISF – 44 ; ITBP – 26 ; SSB – 14)
Pay Scale : PB-3 ; Rs.15600-39100 grade pay Rs.5400/-
Educational Qualification : Bachelor’s degree ( Candidates awaiting results may also apply provided they produce their proof of passing within the stipulated time if selected in the written exam)
Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate will be a desirable qualification. These qualifications will be given consideration
at the time of Interview/ Personality Test only.
Age Limit : 20 – 25 years as on 1st August 2012 (Relaxation – SC/ST – 5years ; OBC – 3 years)
Selection Procedure :
i) Written Examination – The written examination to be conducted by UPSC will be held on 11th November, 2012 and will comprise two papers. Paper I will be held from 10 a.m. to 12.00 Noon and Paper II will be held from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
ii) Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests
iii) Interview/Personality Test
Application Fee : Rs.200/- (NO Fee for SC/ST/Female)
Mode of Payment of Application fee : Either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore /State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.

Note : The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be made available in the UPSC website [www.upsc.gov.in] for downloading by candidates. No Admission Certificate will be sent by post. All the applicants are required to provide valid and active E-Mail I.D. while filling up Online Application Form as the Commission may use electronic mode for contacting them.
